A graduate of Pratt Institute in New York City, Linda Thompson also studied art at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh and at McGill University in Montreal.
She has had solo exhibitions in the following galleries:

• Santander Bank Gallery,
• West Tisbury Public Library.
Her paintings are shown in the Gay Head Gallery in Aquinnah.
She has also participated in group shows at:

• Friends of Family Planning Exhibition,
• Vineyard House Water-Tasting Celebration,
• Citizens’ Schools Auctions in Boston.
As a professional Industrial Designer, she designed over a hundred April Cornell stores in the United States and Canada, worked on the design of restaurants in the original World Trade Center in New York, and was co-owner of a design-build construction company, Aubergine Designs, which carried out dozens of high-end home restorations in Montreal.
Linda is from Pittsburgh and lived in New York City and Kennebunkport, Maine, before and after university. She lived in Montreal with her husband Mark London where they raised their children, Alexandra and Natasha. They summered on Martha's Vineyard for 23 years before she and Mark moved to Chilmark full-time in 2002.
